Pickleball comes to Scotland

Introduction

If you have never heard of pickleball before, it's time to learn. This sport is basically the same as tennis, except that instead of a ball and racket, you play with an oversized wiffle ball and paddle. It's a fast-paced game that can be played indoors or outdoors. It's really starting to take off in Scotland along with the rest of the UK.

I play once a week with Perth Pickleball and twice weekly with my friends. New and old friends have really bonded over this fantastic sport. We refer to ourselves as "The Scottish Lassies" and have had a lovely responds to our photos and posts on Facebook groups in particular 'Pickleball Women'. It's is amazing to connect with these women from America and Canada, we've even had offers to visit and do exchange trips.

Conclusion

Pickleball is exploding in Scotland and I'm so pleased to be part of the journey. In particular, I'm thrilled that the sport has brought together a group of friends who all share an enthusiasm for something new and having fun getting fit.
